Itinerary
DAY 1 - ATHENS
Arrival in Athens and transfer with our English-speaking assistant to the hotel.
● Dinner and overnight stay in Athens.
DAY 2 - ATHENS - ACROPOLIS
Breakfast at the hotel and, at the indicated time, departure to visit
the Acropolis, the Propylaea, and the Erechtheion. From the
Acropolis, you will be able to observe the Areopagus (Mars Hill),
where Saint Paul delivered his first discourse to the Athenians.
The first Athenian Christian, Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, was
named in commemoration of this event.
In the evening, a walking tour of the most important sights in Plaka
and Monastiraki.

Day 3 - ATHENS - NEMEA - KALAMATA
Following breakfast, the group will depart, heading straight toward the magnificent Corinth Canal. This massive engineering feat slices through the narrow Isthmus, offering a spectacular and unique photo opportunity as we cross the historic boundary separating the Peloponnese from mainland Greece. After that, the group will continue to the celebrated Nemea wine region, the largest single vineyard zone in Greece and a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) area, where they will enjoy a wine tasting of the region’s signature red grape: Agiorgitiko. In the afternoon, continue to the beautiful coastal city of Kalamata, the heart of Messinia,in Peloponnese.

Day 4 - KALAMATA - ANCIENT OLYMPIA - KALAMATA
Breakfast and departure towards Ancient Olympia, the most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece and the very birthplace of the Olympic Games. The journey itself will take us through the lush, green landscapes of the Western Peloponnese, transitioning from the coast to the peaceful valley where the sanctuary is nestled. The tour concludes with the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, home to masterpieces such as the famous statue of Hermes of Praxiteles and the preserved sculptures from the Temple of Zeus. Free time for lunch in the area and transfer back to Kalamata ● Dinner and overnight stay in Kalamata.
Day 5 - KALAMATA - MESSINIA - KALAMATA
Breakfast and departure to visit the region of Messinia, in the Peloponnese, the home of the world-famous PDO Kalamata Olive and some of the finest olive oil on the planet, often called “liquid gold”. The group will firstly visit an olive estate, then an olive mill and will finish with an olive+oil tasting lesson. After the visit, return to Kalamata and free time.

Day 6 - KALAMATA - MYSTRAS - ATHENS
Breakfast and departure towards the Archaeological Site of Mystras. This place, also called the “wonder of the Morea”, was built as an amphitheatre around the fortress erected in 1249 by the prince of Achaia, William of Villehardouin. Reconquered by the Byzantines, then occupied by the Turks and the Venetians, the city was abandoned in 1832, leaving only the breathtaking medieval ruins, standing in a beautiful landscape. After the visit, we will go back to Athens, with a free lunch stop before arriving in the capital of Greece.

Day 7 - ATHENS - SARONIC ISLANDS - ATHENS
Breakfast and, at the indicated time, transfer to Piraeus Port to enjoy a one day cruise of the Saronic Gulf, between the peninsulas of Attica and Argolis and forms part of the Aegean Sea. In this cruise you will visit three islands: Aegina, known as the island of Pistachios; Poros, where a unique architecture paired with the blooming purple bougainvillea bushes; and Hydra, full of elegant mansions and historical points of interest, where no cars are allowed on the island. At the end of the day, arrival in Piraeus and transfer back to the hotel. ● Dinner and overnight stay in Athens.
DAY 8 - ATHENS - AIRPORT
Breakfast and transfer to Athens Airport with our English-speaking assistant at the designated time.End of services.
